Eric Gobbert
Chief Operating Officer
With over 20 years of diverse experience in the mining industry, Eric has built a robust career spanning drill and blast operations and exploration drilling. He has held pivotal roles from site-based operations to senior management positions with renowned contractors such as ROCK Australia, MAXAM, Rock on Ground, and as General Manager of the Ausdrill Exploration Business.
Eric integrates operational proficiency with keen financial insight, prioritizing client engagement to cultivate repeat business and optimize operational efficiencies. His strategic approach consistently yields sustainable financial results. Eric places a high emphasis on employee engagement and empowerment, striving to foster high retention rates and position his teams as employers of choice in the industry.
Todd May
General Manager
Operations
A dynamic and driven mining professional, Todd entered mining in 2012 following his graduation from the University of Adelaide with a Bachelor of Mining Engineering (Hons). His formative years in the industry saw him gain valuable front-line experience in surveying, shot-firing and operations.
Todd commenced with Roc-Drill in 2017, becoming a senior engineer a short time later. His responsibilities during his early years in the business included drill and blast engineering, contracts and project management.
Today, Todd is our Operations Manager with oversight of all project delivery across the business.
Stefan Bassi
General Manager
Technical Services
Stefan commenced in the industry as a mining engineer in 2013, accumulating direct experience in drill and blast engineering, pit design, training and mentoring at Kanmantoo copper mine. Having joined Roc-Drill in 2016 in a drill support role, he quickly progressed to a leadership position within tendering and procurement, as well as undertaking project management for the rapidly growing North-West Queensland portfolio.
Throughout his tenure at Roc-Drill, Stefan has played pivotal roles in managing the company’s response to the Covid-19 pandemic and spearheading strategic growth initiatives. Known for his adaptability and comprehensive approach, he leverages his Bachelor of Mining Engineering with Honours to keep Roc-Drill at the forefront of the industry.
Neville Johnstone
HESQ&T Manager
Neville is an accomplished Training and HSEQ professional with a Bachelor of Adult and Vocational Education and extensive experience across multiple sectors. He has demonstrated success in managing HSEQ management systems, risk management systems, and compliance with ISO standards, and has a proven track record in internal and external auditing, incident investigation, and continuous improvement strategies.
Lois Andrijich

Lois Andrijich holds over 15 years of experience in Human Resources. She has a Masters in HR Management from Edith Cowan University, a Certificate in Strategic Management from Harvard University, and undergraduate and Honours degrees in Psychology from ECU. Lois has served as the HR executive in small businesses of 80 staff, to large businesses of over 3,000 employees.
Lois enjoys finding innovative solutions to business problems and is passionate about improving life at work for employees. She appreciates that HR is never a ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach, and that acknowledging individual business and people needs is important in ensuring that HR services are effectively managed.
Glenn Werch
Area Manager
Glenn’s career began as an apprentice electrical fitter in the mines of Broken Hill in the mid-80s.
After relocating to Western Australia, where the booming mining industry promised growth and challenge over the next 15 years. Glenn spent considerable time in open pit gold, iron ore, and nickel mining, operating various types of machinery and mastered the art of drill & blast techniques.
Over the next 20 years Glenn ascended to senior management roles, serving as a drill & blast, production, and contracts superintendent/manager.
Moving back to the east coast, and honing his skills in the Coal space, marked a pivotal chapter in his career, where he excelled in managing and optimising mining operations at a senior level.
Darren Roach
Area Manager
A born leader, Darren has oversight of all Roc-Drill operations team members up and down the East Coast. His twelve years in the industry have seen him develop from broom and bit sharpener into supervision roles. A well-rounded professional with both front and back of house knowledge, his background includes Tier 1 experience as a Mining Coordinator, providing him valuable insight int contract management, tender valuation and supplier selection.
Darren’s knowledge of performance management and dedication to developing his team has seen him successfully build one of the businesses’ strongest and most consistently performing units.
Shaun Spies
Maintenance Manager
With over 2 decades in the mining drilling industry across Africa and Australia, Shaun brings extensive experience as a heavy diesel mechanic specialising in Sandvik, DRA, and Epiroc equipment. His career has evolved through roles as a product support specialist, supervisor, maintenance planner, and coordinator, allowing him to streamline operations, enhance equipment reliability, optimize, and execute maintenance schedules.
Shaun is dedicated to ensuring that safety and efficiency underpin every aspect of delivering our client’s operational goals, leveraging his technical expertise and leadership skills to deliver consistent results in challenging environments.
